Terms and Conditions: Please read carefully before hiring any bikes or accessories.

Proof of Identification:

The lead hirer must provide proof of identification upon collection of the e-bikes. This includes a photo ID (such as a passport or driving license) and proof of address. Rent E Bike reserves the right to refuse hire to individuals who cannot provide this.

Payment and Responsibility

As the hirer, you acknowledge full financial responsibility for any loss, theft, or damage to bikes and accessories hired under this agreement, including damage caused by excessive dirt or sand. A credit or debit card pre-authorization will be made prior to hire. This is a temporary hold on the card for the value of the bike. No immediate charge is made. If the bike is returned in satisfactory condition, the hold is released. If not, the card may be charged for damages or replacement. This hold acts as a security deposit and ensures coverage for any potential costs.

Safety and Security:

The hirer is responsible for all riders in their party. You must inspect the bikes and accessories and confirm they are in safe, satisfactory condition. By hiring from Rent E Bike, you acknowledge the following:

• All riders must be 14 years or older.

• Riders under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

• Cycling involves inherent risks, and all riders use Rent E Bike’s bikes and accessories at their own risk. Rent E Bike will not be held responsible for injury to riders, third parties, or damage to personal property during the hire period.

Helmets, locks, and optional panniers are provided for each hire and remain Rent E Bike’s property. We recommend wearing helmets at all times. By signing the hire agreement, you accept full responsibility for any accidents, injuries, or fatalities. Rent E Bike does not provide personal accident insurance.

Cycling Manner:

You and your party agree to cycle sensibly and respect others and the environment. Riders must follow the Highway Code, especially the rules for cyclists. Pedestrians have priority on shared walkways, and cycling restrictions on promenades must be followed. Any dangerous riding may result in repossession without a refund.

Overnight Hire:

If bikes are hired overnight, they must be stored in a locked building. You are responsible for ensuring safety from theft or damage. Bikes must be locked to an immovable object.

Late and Early Returns

All bikes must be returned within the specified period. Late returns incur a charge of £10 per half hour. Early returns do not qualify for refunds.

Insurance:

Rent E Bike strongly recommends you have public liability insurance, as this is not provided by Rent E Bike.

Personal Health:

By hiring from Rent E Bike, you declare all riders are in good health, with eyesight meeting driving standards, and no medical condition that impairs their safe control of the bike.

Alcohol, Drugs, and Solvents

Riders must not ride under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or solvents. Non-compliance will result in immediate confiscation, with no refund.

In the event of theft, the hirer must report the incident to the police immediately and provide Rent E Bike with a copy of the police report. The hirer will remain fully financially responsible for the full value of the bike until it is recovered.

Right to Refuse Hire:

Rent E Bike reserves the right to refuse hire to any individual or group.

Governing Law:

This agreement is governed by English law. If any part is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
